Clash of styles at the top of the EuroLeague as co-leader Fenerbahçe Tarfin Istanbul visits Valencia

Valencia Basket men's team returns to the Roig Arena just two days after its win over Kosner Baskonia to take on Fenerbahçe Tarfin Istanbul (Tuesday 27, 8:30 PM, Roig Arena, #Vamos) in a game corresponding to Round 8 of the EuroLeague.

The taronja side will once again have the backing of its home crowd as it faces its third game in five days, in what represents one of the toughest tests of its positive run of form with the visit of the competition’s best defensive team. It is a clash of styles, with different but equally effective approaches in this early stage of the season.

Valencia Basket comes into the game as the EuroLeague’s highest-scoring team (99.1 points per game), the fastest-paced side (80.3 possessions per game), and ranks among the leaders in all major offensive efficiency categories. They will face the difficult challenge of staying true to their playing philosophy against an opponent that allows the fewest points in the competition, plays at the slowest pace, and limits its rivals’ field-goal and true-shooting efficiency more than any other team.

The historical record favors the Valencian side, which has won five of its seven home meetings against this opponent, including victories in each of the last four encounters.

With Nate Reuvers ruled out due to an injury to a bone in his left foot, head coach Xavi Albert will have 14 professional players available for this matchup.

Valencia Basket currently sits third in the EuroLeague standings with a 5-2 record.
